In 1985, Tom Burnett Jr served as President of the Alpha Eta student chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi at the University of Minnesota.

On September 11, 2001, Tom and his fellow passengers on United flight 93 died as American heroes.

Since 2011, Alpha Eta members have hosted a golf tournament  in Tom's memory​ - which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for scholarships for University of Minnesota students, and provided even more memories for Alpha Kappa Psi brothers and friends.

The 14th Annual Tom Burnett Jr Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, September 26th at the Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater, MN beginning at 1:00pm. After golfing, there will be a happy hour style event with heavy appetizers and a complimentary drink starting at 5:00pm. There will be a silent auction and a short presentation to follow.
